SPECIAL WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES & WEDDING RECEPTIONS as a family. . . . .

AMAZING, is putting it mildly!  I have to put this post together because what was accomplished by my family working together for those they love has to be acknowledged.

Our 50th Wedding Anniversary was put together by all seven of our children, their spouses and kiddo's.  They worked real hard to make it a surprise and thought they could pull that off since all were to be in town for Thanksgiving anyway.  BUT because they were having to borrow so many picture albums, wedding dress ect. ect. they finally caved.  Words just can not descibe what all they did, nor can just the pictures alone tell the whole story but I hope I included enough that the ideas and events became meaningful to those who care.

Family pictures were staged, my dress and wedding pictures were artfully displayed; everybody had a personal picture with either Jim or myself or both used on cute heart stands for individual place cards; family T-shirts were made with the "Grand's" names on the back of theirs and the number that they were born into our family; "Los" catered it with the great Mexican Food we grew up with in our family, set up by people we knew and who had watched our family grow as we came to visit as a family whenever family members hit town to visit;  each of our 7 children's families took a decade from our lives and made up skits, games, video's to share with us all with Timmy as the MC (these were videoed but not all came thru but enough so we have great memories to view);  A Photo Booth was set up for each couple to have their pictures taken in as well as cousins.

Then came Dayna's Wedding Reception....

The amount of thought and effort that went into Dayna's Wedding Reception was over the moon.  LaNell, Tricia and their Committee went all out. Tricia had a vision of just how she wanted to lay everything out and we all had fun going along for the ride. It took from putting on our 50th Golden Anniversary celebration, until the afternoon of Dayna's wedding (10 weeks) to pull it all together.  Patterns were made so that the Committee could work on the flowers (even had to pull an overnighter that Trevor and LaNell put together. Amy & Savannah came and worked until late into the night - we needed Savannah's finishing touches to make our efforts come alive!); Savannah used her beautiful penmanship to write out the words to Dayna & Jakes favorite song and do the backdrop for the pictures; Tricia found pieces of furniture out on the curb in her neighborhood that she hauled home, cleaned up and refinished; Some furniture from her home got a facelife to go along with her color scheme;  All sizes of purple tablecloths were purchased;
She repurposed the picture booth from our 50th;  She found gold curtains at Goodwill (I think) to use for the backdrop; Donuts were made with purple frosting because Dayna and Jake wanted them instead of a wedding cake; A beautiful setting was made for pictures of guests to be taken with the bride and groom a copy to be placed in her guest book along with a wedding greeting from the guests;  Timmy was their DJ and he created a play list of their favorite songs; a beautiful dance floor area was created;  Kimberly took the before, during and after photo's and Tatum did video's and put together the greatest video of the whole wedding process; The guests gave them a sparkling send off from their reception in the Ward Building with the Phoenix Arizona Temple in the background, (this priceless picture was captured by Daynas' Uncle Timmy).
